Things got a little zesty at this year’s first Strawberry Boogie as we brought our positive waste-wise message to the live music and art event. Held at the University of Wollongong UniBar in March, HH crew members had an awesome evening splicing up the drinks of those who dared with shots of pure fruity goodness.

Our “shrubs” as they are known, are made entirely of imperfect fruit that would have otherwise ended up in the bin – boiled down into a liquid concentrate, preserved with vinegar and added to drinks for a fresh new flavour. Our volunteers spread the good word by first quizzing people on food waste facts in order to claim their zesty prize.
