Come along to enjoy local and ethically sources food by SANDYgoodWICH and The Pines Kiama, connect with other foodies and celebrate our regional food and fair food leaders on Wednesday the 11th of October from 6pm – 9pm at The Pavilion, Kiama.
Hidden Harvest will be mingling with foodies and chatting about food waste. At the end of the night, we’ll be packaging all the leftovers from the meal prep for dinner into doggy bags. For a gold coin donation to the Warrawong Community Centre, you’ll be helping to make sure this event is a zero-waste event. Love your leftovers, lunch for tomorrow sorted!
Fair food advocate and university lecturer Sandy Murray will be the keynote speaker for the night and will talk about “Strengthening the local food economy in Tassie – what does it take?”
The evening will include a number of local speakers including Chris Bridge from Mahbrook Organics, Donna Walsh from Warrawong Community Lunch and Dylan Power from Intergen Munch Out Kiama, plus expo stalls.
Connecting over Fair Food takes a “Pay As You Feel” approach, with a suggested minimum donation of $10 at the door. This event is organised by Food Fairness Illawarra, with support from Shellharbour, Wollongong and Kiama Councils and the Nutrition Society of Australia as part of National Fair Food week. All donations will support future Food Fairness Illawarra events to fuel the Fair Food conversation!
